GOTRAX GXL Electric Scooter Review

hey what's up guys this is the unboxing and review of the go Trax gxl also known as the glide XL I'll put the timestamps in the description below if you want to skip the unboxing or any other parts of the video put this on Amazon for about 4:35 comes in a plain box a Styrofoam tire inflation extension allen wrench the handlebars are packed very well everything is packed really well in this in this box handlebars are really polished no scratches no dents well made mostly plastic some some metal on the on the main frame I think in the in the t-bar teeth part of the handlebars you [Music] the instruction manual is well thought out very clear and easy to read better a lot better than something that manacles I've gotten on other devices AC power supply the outputs 42 volts or 1.5 amps it's a typical power supply for typical electrical device [Music] the quarter the scooter pretty hefty pretty heavy not not bad together box I found this weird piece and said boxer that you just saw I think it was a sleeve of a piece of cable somewhere baby related to scooter I don't know the back tire has a disc brake and a disc brake actuation button pedal there does very well the bottom is pretty plain if the kickstands scooter as well it works well it's not hidden like some of the other scooters kind of protrudes out front tire is the motor tires are all eight point five eight and a half inch air filled tires you probably already see that kickstand pretty easy to actuate to kick out and pull back in it's not hitting the front and back tires are pretty well designed but I guess typical Ford electric scooter there are some reflectors on either side on the back offender there is no back taillight on the unit [Music] the latches on the back fender as well he just kind of pushed down the handle bar and defender teeth the whole rest of the unit up now that hook was a little loose so looks like it's hard to open a closed it's really not [Music] a close-up of the rear tire fender disc-brake all together there the disc brake and the reflector and everything works really well no reflectors upfront there's actually a light in the front to get the unit down may take a little work sometimes it's a metal latch so it's pretty solid so getting the handlebar installed there's six pins that you have to align between the handle and the unit itself [Music] wasn't hard you don't want to force it obviously I just kind of slipped it on ahead a little crooked the fielitz took the bag off preceded it and just slap once I knew it was in place good go drop the hook back on the two screws easy peasy [Music] scooter was completely charged when I got it so that was a very nice of the company to do that like I said the metal folding latch can be a bit quirky but it's overall it's just solid it's not bad it's like typical but your scooter latches you don't want to loose one you don't want to coming down you're writing it cause a safety issue solid but pressing the button turns on you pull it down hope seconds a cycle through the speed cycle one speed cycle two press it quickly once once it's on we'll turn the front light on it indicates a medieval on screen they see [Music] it's been second anyone I can get up to about 13 miles per hour away about 155 pounds this is on not super even ground but typical subdivision pavement on speed setting to get it going about 17 miles per hour that depends on your weight because my kids can get it going about around 20 ish the general control is pretty good one-handed trying to hold it with one hand which I don't suggest it's possible that hand grips are pretty rubber or rubbery and pretty grippy they're really pretty good maybe not super comfortable on a long ride possibly but that's maybe maybe downside now the acceleration lever is is a little touchy there's almost no in-between it's either you're just going full speed of your setting that you're at or your here's not so that I had a little test with that and I'm just gonna find out just push it down go full speed or just let off put the brake on the weight of the scooter is about 27 pounds and that's typical for this this type of electric scooter I don't know how much this yielding me of the show me I'm 365 way I also have another scooter that I got recently after this one that weighs exactly the same way to 26% pounds [Music] there's no shock absorbers on this unit so hitting bumps you're gonna feel it but the tires are air-filled so in with your knees and whole body is kind of a shock absorber handles pretty well on uneven pavement the rear disc brakes squeak from time to time just a little bit turning radius on the scooter is this good the ride is really pretty good now with the actuator for the disc brake on the back the back that scooter takes away from room on the deck you just have to account for that and you stagger your feet overall it's me brain scooter kids love ride heads so it was a good deal it's a nice scooter I what's up guys it's Bailey and welcome back to another video review on the goat racks gxl commuter scooter I have tested this scooter for a couple months and I have come to a conclusion that it is super fun to ride this thing the scooter features a 250 watt motor with eight and a half inch air-filled tires on the website it stated that the scooter can get up to 12 miles per charge when I tested the scooter I got about 10 to 11 miles per charge it just depends on your weight and the speed it's data that can go up to 15 point 5 miles per hour the fastest speed that I got was sixteen point two miles per hour and this totally depends on how much you weigh and if you're going uphill or downhill so at the very top of the scooter you have a speedometer which tells you how fast you are going with an LED display as well as what gear you are currently in this red button under the speedometer controls what gear you are in as well as the headlight on the scooter itself and under that button is where you plug in your charger to charge the scooter this scooter is really portable you can put it in portable mode very easily to do this all you do is you pull the red lever at the base of the scooter and this will make the handlebars come down and it will click in place near the tires to make it super easy to carry the scooter around to power the scooter on or off press and hold the red button for a few seconds to power the headlights on or off press the red button quickly three times to change between first and second gear hold the red button for two seconds the display screen on the console will switch from the number one and the number two showing you what gear you are currently in on the left side there's gonna be a red lever that lever is gonna be your brake lever and on the right side it's going to be your acceleration lever now I will take you guys on a quick ride to show you how the scooter acts on asphalt terrain hopefully the video quality is not too shaky because I will be recording this on my iphone 7 plus like always all the products I mentioned in this video will be linked in the description down below with the most up-to-date pricing if you wish to check them out if this video helped you out don't forget to like the video and if you guys have any questions about this scooter go ahead and leave it in the comment section down below and I will catch you guys all in the next video peace [Music] [Music] [Music]

today we're gonna be unboxing and testing the goat racks gxl electric scooter to see if it can hold up to its online claims at the end of this video I'm going to be posting a full pros and cons list so if you want to jump straight to that the time stamp is shown here on the screen purchase this off Amazon for $399 but it is sold and shipped from co.labs normally I'd stay away from items that are not fulfilled by Amazon but I will say it was ordered on Monday and received by Thursday so shipping was surprisingly fast I will note that was within the US I live in Massachusetts inside the box upon arrival are the handlebars and allen key the charger an instruction manual and air hose to attach to a pump for the tires and the scooter itself the scooter comes almost fully assembled and all that needs to be installed are the handlebars which is as simple as using an allen key to unscrew the two screws remove the hook and the protective cap slide the handlebars back on aligning the pins in the base with the holes on the handles and then just reinstall the same screws took under five minutes first thing I noticed about this was the build quality honestly for $399 this was on the lower end of electric scooters but I was thoroughly impressed the handlebars are solid lightweight metal the tires are real rubber air filled tires and the brakes on the back are disc brakes the deck is sturdy it does not give much flex at all and it keeps and work great overall the build he really did impress me but now I'll talk more about that later on turning it on was just a press of the red button a quick press will turn on the headlights a slightly longer press brings it from boat one to boat to making it a little bit faster and a five-second press turns it back off the display will show your speed battery life and when you press it what's gear you're in the scooter did come fully charged but I plugged it back in anyway charging was as simple as popping out the rubber piece on the handlebars and plugging it in there is an indicator light on the charger that tells you when it's fully charged all right let's get this thing outside so to make this thing go there are three things to note the black handlebar trigger makes it go the red trigger is the brakes for the front wheel and the foot pedal on the deck are the brakes for the back wheel so while I'm shooting this during the day the headlight does work really well to allow people to see you at night although it is not terribly bright so if you're riding this somewhere at night that is very dark without streetlights you may struggle to see there is a reflector on the back fender as well as two white reflectors on the back of the deck that should help people see you from behind but when I'm writing this at night I also wear a helmet with lights on the back just so I have that extra protection and visibility so as I mentioned earlier the build quality is very solid I'm 510 170 pounds and this thing feels overall very very sturdy with me on it transporting it when not on it is easy to just pull the red bar at the base of the handles pull the front down clip the hook on the handles into the hook on the fender and it will roll away all right let's hop on this thing it is a kickstart scooter so to get it started just kick once or twice the old-fashioned way then just slowly press down on the black trigger as I mentioned earlier I'm 510 170 pounds and in first year I was able to get up to 15 miles an hour and I was able to get up to 17 and a half miles an hour in second gear [Music] this one over bumps and cracks with ease on my way to and from the park but while I was there I figured why not try this thing off-road while I was pleasantly surprised this thing cuts right through the grassy field easily although I'm not so sure that the manufacturer recommends this but it was still a lot of fun and it worked great but I did not have a chance to do or test in this video is to test the full range of the battery so keep an eye on the description box down below over the next few days I will track it and that will update it down there the manufacturer claims it has a 12 mile range but again I'll update it below overall for the price you truly think that this is a really good scooter but just to recap so that you can decide for yourself some of the pros and the cons so the pros easy to assemble solid build quality folds up and rolls although it is a little awkward to balance it is fast with good pickup it does get up slightly inclined with very little strain I hit 17 and a half miles an hour myself in second gear the tires and the four inch clearance make it easily go over bumps and you're also able to take it off-road and the handlebars will not spin all the way around which is a nice safety feature at tons it's heavy proximately 30 pounds the handlebars do give a little flex from the pivot point which does take some getting used to the headlight is not overly bright but it will work well to allow people to see you the brakes and the acceleration definitely take some getting used to both are very sensitive the front brake is very sensitive the back brake the positioning is a little bit awkward although once you get used to it the disc brakes do work very well and they will stop it quickly a front brake it takes a good 15 to 20 feet to stop you from going fifteen miles an hour and lastly I didn't talk about this but it is a little loud it does make a squeak noise sounds like it's coming from the back bearing maybe it just needs to break in a little bit if you're riding around in the city though it'll hardly be noticeable and if you're riding somewhere quiet just note that well hopefully that's enough for you to be able to make an informed decision by yourself on whether or not you think that this is for you as I mentioned I will be testing the battery over the next several days so make sure to check down in the description box below if Now if your curious why you might wanna pick up one of the GoTrax GXL scooters, I've got my top five features of the scooter for you in this video. Let's get started with design. The GoTrax GXL has eight and a half front and rear pneumatic ait filled tires with great shock absorption and even anti slick treads. Although I probably wouldn't wanna ride around on this in the pouring rain, it is enough to keep you steady and not feeling all the bumps as you're riding along. That is paired with a 250 watt motor which is designed to deliver a smooth riding experience. So if you're going through the neighborhood or even commuting on this thing, you're not gonna have a crazy bumpy ride. Now when you're on a scooter like this that can go pretty fast, breaking is also an important part of the scenario. So I was glad to see that the GoTrax GXL had front and rear breaking. You've got a ditch base breaking system along with regenerative breaking as well. One other nive tough I'm gonna highlight here and mention is the built in headlight, which also helps with visibility in the evening and at night. Now second let's talk about ease of use 'cause I've seen a lot of scooters and I've seen a lot of hoverboards and one wheels. A lot of things out there either have a complicated learning curve or a complicated set up process and the GXL has neither. Everything about this was easy, set up out of the box was really just open the box, take out the handle unit, take out the board, remove two screws, insert the handle bar, put the screws back in and that's it. Power it on and you're ready to ride. Now that leads me to my next feature, number three and that is portability. If you're picking up something to commute on or commute with you want it to be something that's portable and easily carryable and easily storeable as well. The GoTrax GXL features a lever activated holding frame, which allows it to fold down into a compact form factor. Not only does this make it easier to carry around if you're bringing it on a bus or train but it also makes storing it simple as well. Now of course if you don't need to fold it up, you can store it as is, unfolded and it does have a built in kick stand, which makes it easy to stand up pretty much anywhere. Alright now you've got it set up, you know how to fold it, you know how to carry it around, you know how to store it. Now it's time to get on and ride. My next favorite feature, number four, it's the speed and range. With any electric motor transportation, whether it's commuting scooter or whether it's a Tesla, speed and especially range, are key. First talking about speed, the GXL sports two gears. You got first gear which goes up to 10 miles per hour and if that's not fast enough for you, you can kick it into second gear, which will go up to 15 miles per hour and by the way that is a little bit faster than it sounds, it's hard to imagine going 10 or 15 miles an hour but it is fast enough that you could injure yourself if you don't take proper precautions, the main one of which being that you should be wearing a helmet when you're riding these around as recommended by GoTrax. If you wanna know how fast you're going, you do have a digital display right up front, which gives you two important pieces of information. You got the speedometer to see how fast your going and you've got the battery meter which shows you you're remaining battery life, so you can see just how much juice and range you have left just by glancing down. Now let's move on to my last favorite feature and it basically encompasses all the first four and that is that this complete package, of those first four features, results in number five, this thing is super fun. Going at a decline in second gear I was actually able to hit 18 miles per hour but I never felt unsafe because the breaks are rock solid. I love that you have breaks up front on the handle bar but also have the physical rear break as well. The breaks are regenerative so it allows you to actually add power back into the battery when you're breaking. So that means if you're breaking just a little bit while you're going down a long hill, you will actually not be wasting battery, you'll actually be adding battery life into the scooter. Now GoTrax does refer to this as a commuting scooter but as a lot of you know, I don't have a commute, I work out of my home office, my commute is basically walk from the bedroom to the office or into the studio but I've still been having a great time with the GoTrax GXL. They sent over two like I mentioned, I've been racing my neighbors, racing my family and having a great time with these. So even if you're not commuting and using them to commute, they're still a super fun gift either for yourself or for a loved one or for both. Alright guys, now I want to hear from you. [Music] hey you guys it's gonna welcome back to a brand new video and I accidentally deleted this intro so basically this company called go track sent me one of their electric scooters and I'm going to be filming with it and testing it out and I'm gonna be unboxing it right about now pretty sure alright I apologize if the lighting isn't the best but I'm just gonna open this up here so inside the box looks like we have the handlebars here I'm guessing the chargers in there too and then we have the main unit and this thing feels super solid look at how big these wheels are compared to the other ones this is definitely gonna be a lot of fun to ride user manual all that stuff okay so to put in the handlebars what you have to do is you have to unscrew these things right here then this comes off you can take this off and then that slides right on top all right now I have it fully together and I believe it's this red button to turn it on let's see if I'm right yep this is cool it shows your speed here battery here and yeah I'm guessing that just means battery you charge it here there's a brake here and a foot brake here and I really want to go and ride it but if you look it is raining out all right so I will just catch you guys when I am testing it out [Music] all right so I'm at my cousin's house now it's Halloween so he has like he built like this haunted house thing but yeah it's kind of getting dark banging to try to film the rest of the video before it gets super dark out well also when it's dark I couldn't show you the headlight features as a headlight on it bro it's Christian our vlog all right I forgot to pay film of all this stuff but I'm just gonna do it again so turn on the scooter you're gonna press and hold spread button right here the screen turns on here shows battery life then speed in miles per hour which is really nice because like the other scooters have used have all been in kilometers an hour and it's like really annoying and then if you want to put it into speed mode to which is like the faster mode you press and hold the red button again then it will show - and now the top speed is about 16 or 17 miles an hour which is nice alright so I'm going uphill right now and it's holding about 12 or 13 miles an hour and then you turn on the Headlee all you do is you tap the red button once and then sit kept light bro all right so now I'm just going to talk about like some key features of the scooter that really nice so first of all it has these nice big inflatable tires so it's like a really smooth ride when you're on it compared to like other scooters over it and on the back here it has a disc brake where you step on that and it's a disc brake just like on a bike and it's good for like really quick stops and the other brake it has which is on here it also charges up the battery whenever you break so I always try to use that when I can the battery life on it is really good I don't know the exact range but I'll put it on screen right now so you could get about that on one charge which is really nice yeah it's just a really good scooter I've never ridden a bird but like a couple of my friends who have say it's like really similar to bird so if you've ever ridden like a if you know what those are but they're like really similar so yeah I'm just gonna end this video here I have a group of people watching me this is like embarrassing so yeah subscribe if you're new to the channel go check out go tracts link is in the description and I'll see if there's a coupon code I can give you guys if so that'll be in the description too and I'll see you guys next time peace out [Music] [Applause] [Music]
